What is the Metaverse
The internet
The internet is a network of networks, of billions of computers, millions of servers and other electronic devices. Once online, internet users can communicate with each other, view and interact with websites, and buy and sell goods and services. The metaverse doesn’t compete with the internet — it builds on it.
What does Meta stand for

Meta can be used as an acronym for “most effective tactics available,” and calling something “meta” means that it’s an effective way to achieve the goal of the game, whether it’s to beat other players or beat the game itself. Another example of meta is something that descries itself. For example, a “real life” gangster: playing a gangster in a move would be considered meta, or an artist painting a picture of him painting the picture.
What is Metadata
Metadata allows users to access resources by “allowing resources to be found by relevant criteria, identifying resources, bringing similar resources together, distinguishing dissimilar resources, and giving location information. For example when you check the weather on your cell phone every morning – that’s metadata!
What is a Meta image
Meta images” are branded images that appear when a user shares an article or page from your company’s website. They are vital to your brand’s appearance and success on social media and beyond, but are often overlooked in the web design and development processes – even by the world’s biggest brands. For example, if the image is a photograph taken by a digital camera, the camera typically generates metadata about the camera and the photo’s settings, including aperture, resolution, focal length, shutter speed, ISO speed, camera brand and model, date and time when the image was created, and the GPS location
The Meteverse is about you owning parts of the Web

The Metaverse is not owned by Facebook or Microsoft. The Web3 metaverse is a virtual world that is built on decentralized technology, such as blockchain, and is meant to be a more open experience for us. Blockchain technology predates Metaverse layers and Web3, but it may eventually be seen as a proof-of-concept for the next generation of online development.
What is a Peer to Peer Network

Peer-to-peer ( P2P) computing or networking is a distributed application architecture that partitions tasks or workloads between peers. Peers are equally privileged, equipotent participants in the network. They are said to form a peer-to-peer network of nodes.
The Sharing Economy
The sharing economy is an economic model defined as a peer-to-peer (P2P) based activity of acquiring, providing, or sharing access to goods and services that is often facilitated by a community-based online platform.

Learning about the Sharing Economy

Sharing isn’t new giving someone a ride, having a guest in your spare room, running errands for someone, participating in a supper club―these are not revolutionary concepts. What is new, in the “sharing economy,” is that you are not helping a friend for free; you are providing these services to a stranger for money.
In this book, Arun Sundararajan, an expert on the sharing economy, explains the transition to what he describes as “crowd-based capitalism”―a new way of organizing economic activity that may supplant the traditional corporate-centered model. As peer-to-peer commercial exchange blurs the lines between the personal and the professional, how will the economy, government regulation, what it means to have a job, and our social fabric be affected?
Early Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrency

The Blockchain is a distributed, public ledger, most commonly known as the core underlying technology for Bitcoin

What is a Distributed Ledger
A distributed ledger (also called a shared ledger or distributed ledger technology or DLT)
is the consensus of replicated, shared, and synchronized digital data that is geographically
spread (distributed) across many sites, countries, or institutions. In contrast to a
centralized database a distributed ledger does not require a central administrator,
and consequently does not have a central controlling entity.
