Introduction to GUG Sustainability
Growing Up Green (GUG) Sustainability refers to raising children with a deep understanding of environmental stewardship, so they grow into conscious, responsible, and proactive members of society who actively protect and improve the planet. At the heart of this concept is the idea that sustainability is not just a topic to be taught, but a way of life. It is environmental awareness, and understanding the impact of consumption, waste, and resources use on the planet. Adults can provide action-oriented learning plans by applying GUG sustainability principles through hands-on projects, field trips, and community discourse, engagement. Educators and community leaders should equip children with green skills that provide technical, leadership, problem-solving, for careers in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental policy
